What was reported
On February [XXX], 2025 at 11:38 AM PST, a Waymo Autonomous Vehicle ("Waymo AV") operating in San Francisco, California was in a collision involving an enclosed car carrier trailer on [XXX]. The Waymo AV was stopped facing southeast on [XXX] in the leftmost lane behind a pickup truck towing an enclosed car carrier trailer that was stopped in-lane with its lift gate lowered. The AV began maneuvering to the right to pass the vehicle and the front left tire of the Waymo AV made contact with the rear right corner of the lowered lift gate. At the time of the impact, the Waymo AV's Level 4 ADS was engaged in autonomous mode. The trailer's lift gate sustained damage. Waymo is reporting this crash under Request No. 2 of Standing General Order 2021-01. Waymo may supplement or correct its reporting with additional information as it may become available.
