What was reported

On May [XXX], 2026 at 12:03 PM CT a Waymo Autonomous Vehicle ("Waymo AV") operating in Austin, Texas was in a collision involving an SUV at the exit of a parking lot at [XXX]. The Waymo AV was stopped facing northwest at the exit of a parking lot at [XXX] and yielding to northbound traffic on [XXX], with its right turn signal activated in preparation for a right turn onto [XXX]. After northbound traffic cleared, the Waymo AV began to turn right, then slowed to a stop again, partially in the rightmost lane of [XXX]. While the Waymo AV was stopped, an SUV initially stopped behind the Waymo AV proceeded forward, and the front right side of the SUV made contact with the rear left side of the stationary Waymo AV. At the time of the impact, the Waymo AV's Level 4 ADS was engaged in autonomous mode. Both vehicles sustained damage. Waymo is reporting this crash under Request No. 2 of Standing General Order 2021-01. Waymo may supplement or correct its reporting with additional information as it may become available.
