What was reported

On June [XXX], 2026 at 12:46 PM PT a Waymo Autonomous Vehicle ("Waymo AV") operating in Los Angeles, California was in a collision involving a telehandler construction vehicle on [XXX] near [XXX]. The Waymo AV was traveling westbound on [XXX] when it approached a telehandler construction vehicle facing west, partially within the eastbound lane and towards the south curb of a construction work zone. As the Waymo AV began to pass, the telehandler construction vehicle began to reverse and maneuver right towards the Waymo AV's lane of travel, and the right side of the telehandler construction vehicle made contact with the left side of the Waymo AV. At the time of the impact, the Waymo AV's Level 4 ADS was engaged in autonomous mode. The Waymo AV sustained damage. Waymo is reporting this crash under Request No. 2 of Standing General Order 2021-01. Waymo may supplement or correct its reporting with additional information as it may become available.
