What was reported

On July [XXX], 2026 at 12:52 AM PDT a Waymo Autonomous Vehicle ("Waymo AV") operating in San Francisco, California was in a collision involving an electric bicycle on [XXX] at [XXX]. The Waymo AV was stopped facing east in the left lane on [XXX] for a stop sign at the intersection with [XXX], with its left turn signal activated in preparation for a left turn onto [XXX]. The Waymo AV proceeded forward and initiated a left turn onto [XXX], then slowed to a stop to yield to three electric bicycles stopped in the crosswalk across [XXX]. While the Waymo AV was stopped, one of the electric bicycles executed a U-turn on [XXX] and approached the Waymo AV from the front, and the front tire of the electric bicycle made contact with the front left side of the stationary Waymo AV. At the time of the impact, the Waymo AV's Level 4 ADS was engaged in autonomous mode. The Waymo AV sustained damage. Waymo is reporting this crash under Request No. 2 of Standing General Order 2021-01. Waymo may supplement or correct its reporting with additional information as it may become available.
