What was reported
On October [XXX], 2023 at 5:14 PM PT a Waymo Autonomous Vehicle (Waymo AV) operating in San Francisco, California was in a collision involving a van on [XXX] near [XXX] The Waymo AV had stopped for a drop-off on northbound [XXX] and yielded to a van traveling south on [XXX] after the passengers had exited. The van attempted to slowly pass the Waymo AV, and as it did so, the rear drivers side tire and rear bumper of the van made contact with the front drivers side tire of the Waymo AV. At the time of the impact, the Waymo AVs Level 4 ADS was engaged in autonomous mode. The van sustained damage. Waymo is reporting this crash under Request No. 2 of Standing General Order 2021-01.
