What was reported
On October [XXX], 2023 at 11:04 AM PT a Waymo Autonomous Vehicle (Waymo AV) operating in Tempe, AZ was in a collision involving a passenger car on [XXX] and [XXX]. The Waymo AV was traveling southeast on [XXX] when it slowed to stop for a red traffic light at the intersection with [XXX]. The front of the passenger car that was traveling behind the Waymo AV made contact with the rear of the Wamyo AV. At the time of the impact, the Waymo AVs Level 4 ADS was engaged in autonomous mode. Both vehicles sustained damage. Waymo is reporting this crash under Request No. 2 of Standing General Order 2021-01.
