What was reported

On January 31, 2025 at 3:22 PM PT a Waymo Autonomous Vehicle ("Waymo AV") operating in San Francisco, California made contact with the pavement at the elevated entrance on [XXX] and [XXX]. The Waymo AV was traveling northwest bound on [XXX] and turning left onto [XXX] for a passenger drop off. The crosswalk that crosses [XXX] on the southwest side of [XXX] is raised to sidewalk level, and as the Waymo AV turned onto [XXX] the Waymo AV's undercarriage made contact with the raised crosswalk pavement. At the time of the impact, the Waymo AV's Level 4 ADS was engaged in autonomous mode. Waymo became aware that the Waymo AV sustained damage resulting in a tow at 4:32 PM PT on January [XXX], 2025. Waymo is reporting this crash under Request No. 1 of Standing General Order 2021-01 because a vehicle involved was towed away. Waymo may supplement or correct its reporting with additional information as it may become available.
