What was reported

On July [XXX], 2026 at approximately 140pm CT in Houston, TX, a Nuro Prius in manual mode was rear-ended at the intersection of [XXX] and [XXX]. Prior to the incident, the Nuro Prius was in auto waiting at a red light. The Nuro Prius proceeded on green through intersection before braking and slowing down, which led the operator to disengage. After disengaging, the operator did not accelerate appropriately, and the vehicle was struck from behind before it cleared the intersection in manual mode. No injuries were reported with the Nuro Prius sustaining minor damage. Air bags were not deployed and law enforcement was not involved.
