What was reported

A Zoox vehicle (Vehicle 1) operating in autonomous mode was traveling southeast on [XXX], slowing gradually in preparation for a right turn onto [XXX] in San Francisco, with turn signal illuminated. At that time, an e-scooterist was traveling southeast at a high speed in the adjacent bike lane, rapidly approaching on the right of the Zoox vehicle from behind in an apparent attempt to overtake the Zoox vehicle. The e-scooterist veered suddenly to overtake on the left of the Zoox vehicle, and the Zoox vehicle operator then disengaged from autonomy and completed braking to a stop. The e-scooterist crossed just behind the left side of the Zoox vehicle's rear bumper and made a glancing contact with the Zoox vehicle. The e-scooterist crossed over the centerline, entered the oncoming lane of traffic, and then apparently made contact with the driver's side rear of an SUV that was traveling northwest along [XXX]. The e-scooterist remained upright, and the SUV braked to a stop after contact. The Zoox vehicle operator completed the turn onto [XXX] and pulled over. The e-scooterist picked up their e-scooter, and then walked it to the sidewalk. After a brief conversation with the Zoox vehicle operator the e-scooterist rode away from the scene. The Zoox vehicle did not sustain any damage, but the SUV may have sustained damage. There were no reported injuries and the police were not notified. The content of this report is unchanged from the initial report and provides complete information to date for this incident.
