Report narrative

What was reported

A Zoox vehicle (Vehicle 1) operating in autonomous mode was stopped in the right turn lane on westbound [XXX], attempting a right turn at a red traffic signal onto [XXX] in Las Vegas. The Zoox vehicle began to move forward and then gradually slowed to a stop to yield to cross traffic with the right of way. Just as the Zoox vehicle started to move forward again, a passenger car traveling directly behind rear ended the Zoox vehicle. The Zoox vehicle operator then disengaged from autonomy and pulled over to exchange information. Vehicle 2 appeared to have sustained minor damage to the front bumper fascia. The Zoox vehicle did not sustain any damage however, its vehicle operator reported back pain after the collision. The police were not called. The Zoox vehicle camera footage shows that the Vehicle 2 driver was not looking ahead at the roadway before or at the time of contact.
