What was reported
On January [XXX], 2022 at 9:00 AM PST a Waymo Autonomous Vehicle ('Waymo AV') operating in San Francisco, California was in a collision involving a box truck at the northbound merge lane on the 100 block of [XXX]. While attempting a merge onto northbound [XXX] from southbound [XXX], the Waymo AV came to a stop to yield for approaching traffic on the right. The box truck then made contact with the rear of the Waymo AV. At the time of the impact, the Waymo AV's Level 4 ADS was engaged in autonomous mode, and a test driver was present (in the driver's seating position). The Waymo AV and the box truck both sustained minor damage. Transdev Alternative Services is reporting this crash under Request No. 2 of Standing General Order 2021-01. Transdev may supplement or correct its reporting with additional information as it may become available. This report is a duplicate to WaymoLLC-202201[XXX]-0 (rev.202202[XXX]151627).
